How To Check Whether You Have This Feature

A guide may describe a feature you cannot see. Before assuming you missed a step, check whether it is available on your assistant, plan, device, region or account.

What You’ll Achieve

Confirm whether you can use the feature before following a product-specific guide.

How To Check

  1. Identify the exact feature.

Write down the feature or setting named in the guide. Feature names differ between assistants, and some assistants may not offer an equivalent at all.

  2. Look in the assistant itself.

Check the relevant settings, menus or new-chat controls. Search for the feature name and any closely related wording used by the assistant.

The interface is a useful first check, not final proof. Products change their menus, labels and rollout timing.

  3. Read the official help page.

Search the assistant’s own help centre for the exact feature name. Prefer an entry that explains how the feature works and who can use it.

    Look for wording about:

    • your plan or subscription
    • web, desktop or mobile access
    • supported countries or regions
    • workspace, organisation or administrator settings
    • gradual rollouts or limited availability
  4. Compare the conditions with your account.

Check which assistant you use, which plan you have, which region applies to your account, which device or platform you are using, and whether a workplace or school manages the account.

A feature may exist but remain unavailable under one of those conditions.

  5. If it still does not appear, stop and verify.

Do not keep repeating the guide’s instructions. Recheck the official documentation, including its publication or update date. The feature may be unavailable to you, use a different name, or require an administrator to enable it.

For example, if a guide refers to a setting called “saved preferences,” search for that phrase in the assistant’s official help centre. Do not assume another assistant uses the same name.

Quick Test

You have completed the check when you can answer:

  • What is the feature called in my assistant?
  • Can my plan use it?
  • Is it available on my device and in my region?
  • Does my workspace or account administrator control access?

If any answer is unclear, verify availability before continuing.
